A Message from Heal The Planet Global Organisation (HTP)
On this historic occasion of Uganda’s 64th Independence Day, celebrated on 9th October 2026, Heal The Planet Global Organisation (HTP) joins all Ugandans at home and abroad in commemorating our nation’s independence, celebrating our rich heritage, and renewing our collective commitment to a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable Uganda.
As we reflect on our journey since independence in 1962, we recognise the importance of unity, good governance, peace, justice, economic empowerment, and respect for human dignity in building the Uganda we all desire.
At Heal The Planet Global Organisation, we believe that true independence goes beyond political freedom. It means ensuring that every Ugandan has access to quality education, healthcare, decent employment, food security, a clean and healthy environment, and equal opportunities to thrive.
As an organisation committed to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we call upon the Government, civil society, development partners, the private sector, and all citizens to work together to:
🇺🇬 Promote peace, unity, and national cohesion.
🌍 Protect our environment and take decisive action against climate change.
📚 Expand access to quality education for every child, especially vulnerable and disadvantaged learners.
🤝 Support refugees, vulnerable communities, and families living in poverty.
⚖️ Strengthen good governance, justice, accountability, and strong institutions.
🏥 Improve access to quality healthcare and essential social services.
💚 Build an inclusive economy that creates opportunities for young people, women, and all Ugandans.
This Independence Day, let us remember that Uganda’s greatest strength lies in its people. Regardless of our political, cultural, religious, or ethnic differences, we share one homeland and a common responsibility to protect its future.
Our independence must translate into dignity for every citizen, opportunity for every child, peace in every community, and a healthy planet for generations to come.
May we continue working together to build a Uganda where no child is left behind, no vulnerable person is forgotten, and every community has the opportunity to prosper.
