Kampala Central; Prudential – HTP Covid 19 Relief Aid Project.

“Sometimes it takes only one act of kindness and caring to change a person’s life.” – Jackie Chan “Do things for people not because of who they are or what they do in return, but because of who you are.” – Harold S. Kushner “Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you.” – Princess Diana “Because that’s what kindness is.

It’s not doing something for someone else because they can’t, but because you can.” – Andrew Iskander “Remember there’s no such thing as a small act of kindness. Every act creates a ripple with no logical end.” – Scotnt Adams On 17th June 2020 as part of HTP – Prudential UG COVID 19 Relief Aid Project we went in Kampala Central Kagube to reach out to the ghetto of Kagugube with food.

The day before we had been in Kawempe and reached out to more than 10 villages. In Kagugube the villages of Kitamanyangamba, LDC, Makerere Kivulu 1, Makerere Kivulu II, Industrial area and others embraced Heal The Planet Global Organisation – HTP Team which was joined by Prudential Insurance Uganda Team alongside Local Leaders, Police and Intelligence officials.

That morning we had meeting with Wandegeya Police Division Police Commander, Division Internal Security Officer, Police OC and in there respective offices to plan for the day. Some Members of Prudential Team shed tears when they saw the lives of slum people in inhuman conditions. You could find a family of 9 people in one roomed rum chuckled, shattered and shanty houses.

HTP also encountered a 100 year old woman who is still energetic, clear vision and sound. This old woman stays in her two roomed house with 9 grandchildren. We thank Prudential Insurance & Prudence UK for the support of 150m UGX which enabled us feed the people, wait for more in next coverage of other places we reached
