HTP President Dr. Kivumbi E Benj, L.H.D. (Hon) Meets Salam Charity Chairman Mohamed Kaliisa to Discuss Strategic Humanitarian Partnership.

On Tuesday, Dr. Kivumbi Earnest Benjamin, L.H.D. (Hon.), President of Heal The Planet Global Organisation (HTP), met with Mr. Mohammed Kaliisa Chairman Salam Charity,
Director Investment Relations Uganda Chamber of Commerce & Industry and President REMAX Advisors . Their discussions focused on key humanitarian, Investment, social, and environmental concerns affecting communities in Uganda and the broader East African region.

Mr. Kaliisa is the younger brother of the late Dr. Anas Kalisa (RIP), a prominent political analyst known for his influential diplomatic and political show Ensi Nebyayo on NBS TV, co-moderated by Hon. Kazibwe Bashir Mbaziira and Sulaiman Kalule.

During the meeting, Mr. Kalisa emphasized the importance of prioritizing and facilitating investors in Uganda. He highlighted the need to streamline processes and reduce bureaucratic obstacles, citing Rwanda as a model example.

“In Rwanda, it takes just 45 minutes to incorporate a company, register for taxes, open a bank account, and obtain all the necessary licenses,” Mr. Kalisa noted. “Uganda should adopt similar efficiency to attract and retain serious investors.”

“All this takes place in a single room and should it not be done there’s a client care number you call immediately and an officer comes physically to find out why, I experimented this.” He noted .

Salam Charity was established under Salam Television as its humanitarian arm to serve vulnerable communities in Uganda and across the East African Community. Founded in 2014, Salam Television set out to combat poverty and improve lives. In a world where over 800 million people go to bed hungry each night and nearly 6 million children die annually from preventable diseases, Salam Charity emerged as a beacon of hope—committed to standing with those in need.

Salam Charity’s mission includes providing lifesaving meals, access to education, healthcare, clothing, and sustainable livelihood opportunities. The organization believes that every individual deserves the chance to live a dignified life and fulfill their full potential.

Operating across Uganda, Salam Charity collaborates with the Government of Uganda, as well as reputable international and local partners. The organization is known for its innovative, transparent, and technology-driven approach to humanitarian service.

We look forward to formalizing a partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Salam Charity and Heal The Planet Global Organisation (HTP), to amplify our shared vision for a more compassionate, equitable, and sustainable future.

The meeting was facilitated by Environmentalists led by Mr. Jamadda Ssonko of Uganda Inter Cottage Industry Cooperative Society.
