Heal The Planet Global Organisation- HTP had the pleasure of holding a Dialogue with Uganda former long-serving Vice President and newly appointed Senior Presidential Advisor on Environment & Sanitation, H. E Prof Gilbert B Bukenya on Friday at his office in Kampala.

HTP delegation was led by Kivumbi Earnest Benjamin, the President who began by introducing to Prof Bukenya the team he moved with.

During the meeting Bukenya shared with HTP about the war he has began to restore Uganda forests which are now at 5% degraded from the initial cover of 30 percent in last last 3 decades. “Nze Bukenya ngasinafa ekyo ekibila nina okizawo” (Before I die I must restore that forest) sighting one forest in Kakiri, Wakiso which hahas been degraded by locals.

HTP President promised to join him in yet country wide tours of Uganda Forests and Swamps.

Bukenya said sensitization is key and one of the strategies to save the environment.
